Great excitement at Outhouse Towers today.
We finally received from the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) our permission for commercial flying operations with our hexacopter aerial camera system, called Oedipus. Oedipus Hex – get it?
Ok, so perhaps multi-rotor flying machines like this are more commonly referred to as drones but whatever the name, we are delighted to be able to extend our offering to our lovely clients.
It’s been a long haul what with the Ground School training and exam, developing a very comprehensive operations manual and a flight test over Warwickshire, not to mention hours of flying practice and tuning the system to deliver optimum results.
The upshot is that we are able to fly (and film) in any permitted UK airspace to offer clients a full service of still and moving image capture. Along with the qualification and CAA permission we have full liability insurance.
It is a complex and time consuming process to develop the skills and achieve the qualifications. We just feel much better knowing that our clients are fully covered and that when they call in Outhouse, they are getting skilled operators who will be able to get the shots they need, legally.
